Salt Lake City is known for its ease of navigation; virtually all the streets
run north-south, and east-west. The streets are also numbered. While that's
true in most cities, the numbers are what people here remember and use most often.
The grid starts at the intersection of South Temple and Main Street. (State Street,
the main north-south artery, is actually 100 East.) So, an address
at 2332 East 9050 South is approximately 23 blocks east of Main and 90 blocks
south of South Temple.
Park City wasn't quite so lucky when the city planners decided where the
roads should go. Geography had a greater influence. Even so, it's still quite
easy to get around once you get your bearings by remembering a few key landmarks.
